Secondary research (Facts about couples/relationships) -

  • On average, daters will kiss on the second date
  • Research shows that men know they’re falling in love after just three dates, but women don’t fall in love until date 14
  • When a man first approaches a woman, she will base 55% of her initial impression of him on his appearance and body language, 38% on his style of speaking, and 7% on what he actually says
  • Studies show that schools, colleges, coffee shops, and malls are all excellent places to flirt because people are more open to meeting others in these places. Poor locations are restaurants and movie theaters

Divorce -

The divorce rate for couples over 65 years old has doubled since 1980

Divorce is illegal in Malta, a country that is controlled by the Vatican. It is one of the three countries in the world (all Catholic) where divorce is illegal, even if the marriage is not a Catholic marriage.

Research shows that couples in Republican states are 27% more likely to divorce than couples in Democratic states. Couples in Republican states have historically married younger than their Democratic counterparts

First marriages that end in divorce usually last approximately 8 years

What is your age?
What is your gender?
Do you enjoy watching documentaries?
How often would you say you watch a documentary?
What is your favourite documentary you've ever seen?
What form of documentary are you most willing to watch?
Have you ever heard of a Channel 4 '3 Minute Wonder'
Have you ever watched a '3 Minute Wonder'?
Would you be interested in watching a short documentary about relationships?
Are you in a relationship?

I will not need to purchase anything for the 3 Minute Wonder as it solely consists of interviews and elements of observation. I will also not need to pay for travel as the people I will be interviewing I already know and will be carrying out interviews at college or at their homes.

Filming in Public

Firstly, filming on a public highway involves speaking to your local council. This is because the council may need you to have public liability insurance if you’re going to be using camera accessories e.g tripod, microphone etc. You also might need to obtain a signed location release form to allow this to happen for example filming inside Asda Supermarket. Although you do not need a signed release/permission if you are outside capturing certain footage e.g the outside of Asda. It is very likely that you'll need to get permission if you are entering private buildings/land. Government buildings and schools are two examples of locations that you will defiitely have to obtain proper permission before you attempt to film anything. Also filming children is a sensitive matter aswell as filming pulic interviews. If your public filming includes interviews then you will need to get legal permission before you start filming. Furthermore, if your filling is likely to disrupt nearby businesses or pedestrians then it s advisable that you contact the local police so they are aware of your plans.

As you can see, on the right is the ten sections of the Ofcom Bradcasting. This consists of: Protecting the Under-Eighteens, Harm and Offence, Crime, Religio, Due impartiality and due accuracy and undue promience of views and opinions, Elections and Referendums, Fairness, Privacy, Commercial References in television programming, Commercial Cmmunications in Radio Programing. I do not believe I will infringe any of the Ofcom sections.

  1. George,

This is good research and I like that you have presented it so clearly. You need to add you planning paperwork to and if you do, and it has been completed to a very good level, you can get a distinction. It is a pass without it.
